In all, incredible graphics, perfect sound design, and a fucking banger narrative direction, it is impossible to not be immersed, although you are the unluckiest man alive it still keeps you on your feet. After that, the game is still maintains it's rhythm, but I don't know, like, it was all expected? The 2nd half of a game felt like a overused formula, the same of everything, you were back to playing a game, not scary anymore, just jumpscares. So after 6 years I had enough of looking at the unfinished Outlast 2 in my library and decided to finally play it, it wasn't even half as scary but I understand my 2017 self, the first chapter the scariest and the longest, it takes almost 50% of game time for any reason. That made me quit it after about 2h, I really didn't handle it, even got nightmares, before this I never had bad dreams about a horror game, it just wasn't scary enough, but this one tormented me, I feared for my life while playing. The first chapter of the game hit directly to my biggest fears, being watched while I don't see it, being chased while I can't look back and the general fear of the unknown, I had no idea which direction the game was taking, the fear of what was coming next, the quick succession of frightening moments. ![]() it made me go clear from horror games for 6 years.
